Kaytee Exact
KAYTEE® exact® is a premium extruded food and has been the recognized nutritional leader by veterinarians and breeders since its introduction over a decade ago. Available for birds and small animals, exact is the most researched and widely used extruded food available.
Extruded foods have been proven to provide superior 100% complete nutrition when compared with bird seed blends. Extruded foods combine quality ingredients and nutrients to produce a processed nugget that contains precise levels of each required nutrient. This ensures that no matter what your pet chooses to eat, each nugget contains exactly the same amount of proper nutrition. This is unlike a bird seed blend where your pet may only choose certain bird seeds or shapes that it likes, which may or may not provide the necessary nutrition required. Extruded foods also do not contain bird seed hulls and will create less mess during bird feeding and a better nutritional value at retail.
Pretty Bird Foods
Macaws and Cockatoos should be fed a formulated (pelleted or extruded diet) as a basis for good nutrition. The diet should be supplemented with fresh fruits and vegetables daily to add variety and psychological enrichment. Treats maybe given in small amounts especially as rewards for good behavior. Special requirements - Large macaws, especially hyacinths, green wings and Buffon's, need high fat foods such as nuts in their diet. Fresh clean water must be provided every day. Vitamin supplements are not needed for birds which are eating a formulated diet. Pretty Bird manufactures special high energy diets which are appropriate for feeding macaws.
